Marnie Anderson is a member of Wahnapitae First Nation. Through proactive promotion of health and fitness, she believes many lifestyle benefits are associated with an active lifestyle. With a positive mindset, her goal was to start her own career in personal training. She actively began to create a business plan with her vision to motivate people by participating in a five week Business and Training and Development course that was offered through Waubetek Business Development Corporation in 2014.
Upon completion of her business plan in 2015, she discussed her self-employment options that were available to her through Gezhtoojig Employment and Training. After many months of hard work, she opened up Northern Personal Training and achieved her goal of operating her own business promoting a healthy lifestyle. Gezhtoojig Employment and Training assisted Marnie with a Self-Employment Start-Up Grant and is currently providing her with a weekly Living Allowance while she launches her business venture.
Marnie believes hard work and dedication played a vital role in achieving her goals and encourages self-employment to those seeking an empowering and rewarding career.
