Gezhtoojig Employment and Training will be the leading resource centre for all Anishnabek people in employment, training and business services.
Mission
Gezhtoojig Employment and Training as a circle of Anishnabek people with a vision of self-determination will foster and direct Aboriginal employment, training and business development initiatives. We will develop public and private partnerships with all employment and business sectors to promote the employability and economic success of Anishnabek people.
History
The “Sudbury Area Management Board” was established in 1991 via Federal transfer of Employment and Training funds from Human Resource Development Canada (Service Canada). In 1992, the organization officially changed its name to “Gezhtoojig Employment and Training”.
MiigWetch to our elders who provided invaluable guidance to our organization since its inception and also provided us with our Anishinaabe name.

Services and Programs are provided to the following seven First Nations and Urban areas:
- Dokis First Nation
- Henvey Inlet First Nation
- Magnetawan First Nation
- Shawanaga First Nation
- Temagami First Nation
- Wahnapitae First Nation
- Wasauksing First Nation
- City of Greater Sudbury
- Parry Sound Area
- Outreach Services are also provided to Manitoulin Island and member clients residing in the North Bay Area.
